Well Clara and I have finally gotten together and started planning. And it looks like the cities we will hit are:
(Drum roll please....)
London
Madrid
Barcelona
Nice
Cannes
Monaco
Genoa
Cinque Terre
Rome
Florence
Venice
Milan
Interlaken
Geneva
Munich
Berlin
Paris
London
Boom. That's a massive amount of Europe.

Saw this, and thought I would give my two cents worth from the weekend traveling I did while at Georgia Tech Lorraine two summers ago (we hit 15 countries over the summer, but only 1-2 cities in each).
ReplyDeleteLondon: The Eye was worth it.
Barcelona: Found a wonderful market along the main drag, make sure to turn down a couple alleys (without getting mugged)
Nice: Swimming can be a bad idea... especially if you miss the "everyone get in, the waves are picking up" notice...
Rome: It's a little... different... but I suggest the Crypt of the Capuchian monks, by far one of my favorite experiences there: http://cbeckersblog.blogspot.com/2010/08/deaths-portal.html
Interlaken: Went Paragliding -- it was wonderful -- also make sure to hike up near the town randomly, we found wild raspberries :-)
Munich: Great Kebabs and beer
Berlin: Mostly what I remember about Germany was the people, but we had fun escaping to Potsdam too.
Paris: Well... the French aren't that friendly to tourists, but the sights are worth it.
If you're still not set on these 100%, Vienna is worth the visit (and cheaper than most of these cities too) I made it out to Budapest... but that's probably a bit out of the way, haha
